Caladesi Island State Park Florida Info, Photos & Video
Caladesi Island State Park: is one of the few remaining natural islands along Florida’s Gulf Coast. Consisting of 650 upland acres and more than 1800 acres of surrounding mangroves and grass flats, the untouched beauty of this natural habitat has inspired local artists, developers, movie makers and those just looking for
a day to get away from it all. Consistently ranked in the top 10 of America’s Best Beaches, Caladesi can be accessed by boat, by ferry or you can actually walk there from the north end of Clearwater Beach. Activities on the island include swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, boating and fishing.
If walking is your thing, I would suggest walking to Caladesi from Clearwater Beach. If you prefer, you can take your own boat to the island or book passage on the ferry. Once there you can hike the 3 mile nature trail that weaves its way through the island’s mangroves, forests and local fauna. If kayaking is your thing, you can explore the three mile kayak trail through the Florida mangroves…although you’ll need to bring your own kayak. also on site...picnic tables, a playground, shelters with charcoal grills, restrooms, showers, a gift shop and a snack bar that serves up cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches and a few other grilled selections. You can also rent a slip a day in the Marina for a small fee. If you are interested in more info…you can visit the Caladesi State Park website.
